ΙΑΜΑ is inspired by the Greek word "ίαμα," meaning a tool for therapy, medicine, and healing.

For 16 years, I have dedicated myself to psychotherapy, always seeking ways to deepen the healing process. My journey into Yoga teaching and somatic training has unlocked a powerful combination of practices: meditation, breathing, movement, mindfulness, and connection to the body, that, alongside psychotherapeutic techniques, creates a holistic approach to healing.

This is my method: uniting mind and body for true transformation.

Restorative 1:1 Sessions

Nervous System–Informed Support Through Rest, Presence & Gentle Guidance

These sessions are for when you’re tired in a way that talking alone doesn’t fix.

Restorative Somatic Sessions are 90-minute, in-person sessions designed for people who feel anxious, exhausted, wired, or simply unable to fully relax.

If your body feels constantly “on,”
if your sleep is light or disrupted,
if stress has settled into your muscles, your breathing, your digestion
these sessions offer a slower, steadier space to reset.

Restorative Somatic Sessions offer a steady, trauma-informed space where your nervous system can begin to slow down safely and gradually.

There is no pressure to perform, explain, or “figure things out.”
We work with the body first.

Who This Is For

These sessions can be helpful if you:

  • Struggle with anxiety or persistent tension

  • Experience insomnia or difficulty unwinding at night

  • Feel easily overwhelmed or overstimulated

  • Live with chronic stress or burnout

  • Notice your body holding more than your mind can explain

  • Have chronic illness that worsens under stress

  • Carry trauma in a way that feels physical rather than verbal

You don’t need a clear story.
You don’t need to explain everything.

How It Helps

Through gentle, guided somatic regulation and restorative practices, the body is supported to:

  • Down-regulate from chronic activation

  • Release held tension gradually

  • Increase tolerance for calm states

  • Reconnect with internal signals of safety

As the nervous system settles, many people notice:

  • Reduced anxiety intensity

  • Improved sleep quality

  • Less muscular tension

  • More emotional steadiness

  • A deeper sense of internal space

Nothing is forced. The work is quiet, steady, and respectful of your pace.

A Gentle Clarification

Restorative Somatic Sessions are not psychotherapy and do not replace mental health or psychiatric treatment.

They are supportive regulation sessions that can stand on their own or complement ongoing therapy.

What my Clients Say

“When I first visited Danai, I was looking for more than just traditional therapy—I was seeking a holistic approach that truly resonated with me. What immediately stood out to me was that, beyond being a highly skilled clinical psychologist, Danai is also a certified yoga teacher. This unique combination made me feel confident that our sessions would go deeper than standard talk therapy and embrace a more integrated, holistic approach.

From the very first session, I felt incredibly welcomed. When Danai used to hold sessions at her home, she created a warm, inviting space where I felt completely comfortable. Her ability to listen deeply and without judgment made it easy for me to open up, knowing I was in a safe and supportive environment.

One of the aspects I truly appreciated was her use of dreams, intuitive tools, and even cards as part of her therapeutic process. These methods helped us explore my inner world on a deeper level, making each session not only insightful but also deeply personal and transformative.

Danai has an exceptional ability to hold space with kindness, understanding, and professionalism. I never felt judged—only deeply heard, seen, and supported. Working with her has been an invaluable experience, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking therapy that goes beyond the surface and embraces true healing at every level—mind, body, and soul.”
